2024 ULTIMATE SPORTS FAN CHALLENGE

DESCRIPTION:
The Ultimate Sports Fan challenges the players to determine who truly is the ultimate sports fan! This restructured game will put players against each other each week in matchups. Players will score points based on if they beat the other player, or tie the other player. Each week, each player will get a new matchup. At the end of ten (10) weeks, the top 8 players will be put into a playoff to determine the Ultimate Sports Fan!
2022 RULES:
The Game:
Each week, the player(s) will be given 15 random games which to pick a winner for each game. These games will take place during the same week time period. Games will end Saturday Night; Sunday will have the website updated and Tuesday Night will be the due date for submitting picks for the following week.
The Structure:
New for 2022, Teams or Individual Players will be allowed to participate. Each week, each Team will be paired up against another Team in a match-up. Each correct pick is worth one (1) point. The Team with the most correct points will win the match-up. There is a possibility for a Tie. The breakdown for the points to be allocated are listed below:
Winning Team: 3 Points
Tie Teams: 2 Points each
Losing Team: 1 Point
Non-participation Team: 0 Points
In addition, a Bonus Question will be added each week. This Bonus Question will be based on a random and difficult sport to choose a single winner or answer to. Regardless if the Team wins or loses the match-up, if the Team gets the Bonus Question correctly, they will get an extra point! Also, missing the question will not penalize the Team.
The Playoff:
At the end of the season (2022 – 10 Weeks), the top eight (8) Teams with the most accumulated points will be positioned into a playoff bracket. The Playoff bracket will be arranged by most points versus least points formats. Should there be a tie between Team rankings, tie-breakers will be used (1. Total Accumulated Correct Picks, 2. Number of Wins, 3. Number of Correct Bonus Questions). These Teams will play additional pick ’em games with the winning team advancing. At the end of The Playoff, the Team surviving will be crowned The Ultimate Sports Fan!
The Prizes:
The prizes will be finalized based on the total number of Teams. It is estimated for 20 players that a prize for First, Second and Third place will be provided. Additional details on the prizes will be provided at the start up of the game.
